SASKATOON – A 50-year-old man is facing charges after police responded to a weapons complaint on Saturday night.
Shortly before 10 p.m., Oct. 21, Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) Patrol officers were dispatched to a reported weapons complaint in the 200 block of 23rd Street East. When they arrived, the officers observed the man with a sharp metal object and upon further investigation, learned he had outstanding warrants. When they took him into custody, they found him to have a knife concealed in his sock. The man was transported to detention and while being processed, SPS Detention staff found an additional 10 knives and a can of bear spray in his backpack.
The 50-year-old man is charged with three counts of possession of a dangerous weapon, carry a concealed weapon and breach of court-imposed orders.
