REGINA – Police are confirming the death of a 19-year-old on July 27 is a homicide.
On that date, RPS were called to a home in the 1400 block of Rupert Street for an injured man.
Officers were dispatched to the residence shortly after 11 p.m.," said RPS in a media release. "When they arrived, they found a male who was the victim of a gunshot wound inside the residence."
Both police and EMS tried to save the man's life, but he was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene.
A 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was charged with second degree murder. The youth made his first court appearance today, and will appear again in Regina Provincial Court on Aug. 10.
