RCMP Major Crimes charges Prince Albert man in Frank Lund's death

Justin Madden is scheduled to appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court June 6. He is charged with second-degree murder.

PRINCE ALBERT – Update:  A 40-year-old Prince Albert man has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of 78-year-old Frank Lund from Prince Albert.

Justin Madden is scheduled to appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court on June 6.  

Police say the victim and the accused are known to one another. Investigators don’t believe there are other suspects at this time.

Lund’s family has been notified of his death and victim services have been offered to them.

Original story: A man has been arrested after Prince Albert RCMP found a deceased man inside a home on Oxbow Street, just west of Prince Albert.

Police say that at about 2:30 p.m. on June 4 they got a request to conduct a welfare check on a man at the residence. The responding officers found the man deceased inside the home. His death was determined to be suspicious and Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes took over the investigation.

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is working with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service to conclusively identify the deceased. An autopsy is taking place to determine his cause of death.

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes continues to investigate and they say updates, including any potential charges, will be provided when available.
