RCMP CRT's make arrests following proactive patrols on Sturgeon Lake

Sask. RCMP’s North Battleford Crime Reduction Team (CRT) and Prince Albert RCMP CRT conducted proactive patrols on Sturgeon Lake First Nation Oct. 27.

STURGEON LAKE FIRST NATION -  Two people were arrested following proactive patrols by Sask. RCMP’s North Battleford Crime Reduction Team (CRT) and Prince Albert RCMP CRT on Sturgeon Lake First Nation Oct. 27. Officers had observed a parked vehicle, which had been reported stolen to Prince Albert RCMP earlier that day and their investigation determined the driver was in a nearby home.

Police obtained a warrant to enter the house and arrested five people without incident. Three were later released without charges.

A 31-year-old man was charged with one possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. He was also arrested on four warrants from Prince Albert RCMP and Prince Albert Police Service. A 20-year-old woman was arrested on a warrant from Prince Albert RCMP for breach of probation.

The man appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court Oct. 30 and the woman appears on Nov. 22.
