Police arrest three girls in relation to Regina robbery

Suspects flee after stealing cell phone and identification from 16-year-old.

REGINA – A group of three girls were arrested after an altercation involving a robbery,

The confrontation took place on Aug. 2 outside a business on the 1800 block Lewvan Drive.

"The incident took place shortly after 11:15 p.m. as a group of females were walking in a parking lot outside a business in the area," RPS said in a media release. "The females were confronted by another group of females and the victim, a 16-year-old female, was assaulted and had her cellphone and identification stolen. The suspects fled following the robbery."

Police located three girls in relation to the matter, with a 12-year-old facing robbery and failure to comply charges and a 13-year-old girl also charged with robbery. They will make a first court appearance on Sept. 19 in Regina Provincial Youth Court. A third girl cannot be charged as she's under 12 years of age. 

The girls cannot be named under the Youth Justice Act.
