Man killed in collision near Kinley: Hwy 14 closed for hours

The collision was near Kinley. Perdue Fire Department and Biggar RCMP responded to the scene. 

KINLEY — Update:  An 85-year-old man from Foam Lake is dead after the pickup truck he was driving collided with a semi west of Saskatoon.

Biggar RCMP say that they got a call at about 10 a.m. June 14 about a collision on Highway 14 between Kinley and Perdue.

Their initial investigation determined the westbound pickup truck and an eastbound semi collided. A westbound SUV then also collided with the pick-up truck.

The driver and only occupant of the pickup truck was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. His family has been notified.

The driver and only occupant of the SUV was taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. The driver and only occupant of the semi was assessed by EMS at the scene.

Highway 14 was closed for several hours during initial investigation but has since reopened. Biggar RCMP continues to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.

Original story: A serious collision west of Saskatoon Wednesday morning closed Highway 14 for several hours and traffic was diverted on a gravel road for about eight kilometres. 

The collision was near Kinley. Perdue Fire Department and Biggar RCMP responded to the scene. 

There are no updates from RCMP on injuries.
