Person found deceased in Regina house fire

Investigation continues, police say.

REGINA – A person has died after a house fire in the 1700 block of Quebec Street.

Police and the Regina Fire Department were called to the home at 4:44 p.m. on July 9, and the fire did extend to a neighbouring dwelling.

Fire crews had five apparatus and a Command Unit respond, with the first firefighters on scene within three minutes.

RPS say the deceased person was discovered inside the residence.

“The Regina Police Service, in conjunction with Regina Fire and Protective Services and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, is conducting an investigation into this matter,” RPS said in a media release. “The investigation is ongoing at this time.”

Both RPS and the RFPS are investigating the blaze.

More details will be released at a later date from police.
