PELICAN NARROWS – A man faces numerous weapons-related and drug trafficking offences after Pelican Narrows RCMP and La Ronge RCMP Crime Reduction Team (CRT) conducted a traffic stop while doing proactive patrols in Pelican Narrows on Oct. 23.
During the traffic stop they observed a loaded magazine in plain view in the vehicle. The three occupants of the vehicle were arrested.
During subsequent searches of one of the arrested individuals and the vehicle, officers found a sawed-off firearm, approximately 21 grams of suspected methamphetamine, three grams of suspected cocaine, a sum of cash, and trafficking paraphernalia.
Jaden Custer, 23, from Pelican Narrows is charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine and cocaine, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, five firearms-related offences, and four counts of failing to comply with probation order.
Custer is scheduled to appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Nov. 2.
The other occupants of the vehicle were released without charge. Pelican Narrows RCMP and La Ronge RCMP CRT continue to investigate.
