Lyndon Gambler was remanded in custody after his first appearance in Regina Provincial Court.

REGINA – A man facing several charges following an armed robbery on April 6 made his first court appearance in Regina Provincial Court on April 7 and was remanded in custody.

Lyndon May Gambler, 35, was arrested after police were displaced at about 2:45 a.m. to a retail business on the 2100 block of Pasqua Street for a report of an armed robbery.

Police say two males had entered the store and one of the males stole merchandise. When staff confronted him he revealed a knife. Both males left the store.

The Regina Police Service Aerial Support Unit located the males in the area of Victoria Avenue and King Street, where police on the ground made the arrest. A search of one of the males produced store merchandise and knives. The male was identified and found to be in breach of conditions of a probation order.

Gambler was charged with robbery, carrying a concealed weapon and failing to comply with a probation order.

Gambler is scheduled to appear in court next on April 10. The matter was adjourned to give him time to get a defence lawyer.
