A 23-year-old Prince Albert man is accused of using a dating app to lure and rob a Saskatoon man at gunpoint.

SASKATOON – A 23-year-old Prince Albert man accused of a Saskatoon man at gunpoint was remanded in custody after his appearance in Saskatoon Provincial Court Thursday. Kobe Edwin Allan Favel is scheduled back in court June 26 to enter an election.

Favel faces charges of armed robbery, uttering threats, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of MDMA.

Saskatoon police say they found a victim in a parking lot in the 1600 block of 33rd Street West at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Nov. 26, 2022. He had called police after a struggle with Favel after meeting him at his home through a dating app. During the struggle the gun went off, resulting in a minor injury to the victim. Favel fled the scene with the victim's vehicle, bank card, phone, and the contents of his gun safe.

SPS used their Air Support Unit to locate the stolen vehicle, which they said they found attempting to hide on Grey Place. Favel was arrested without incident and was found to be in possession of MDMA and the stolen items.
