Man accused of pointing firearm at people was wanted on other charges

The accused had outstanding warrants in Saskatoon for forcible confinement and assault.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. on Aug. 24, Saskatoon police responded to the 900 block of 22nd Street West for a report of a man pointing a firearm.

SASKATOON – A 20-year-old Saskatoon man faces firearms-related offences after allegedly pointing a firearm at two people in Saskatoon on Aug. 24.

At approximately 1:30 a.m., police responded to the 900 block of 22nd Street West for a report of a man pointing a firearm. The suspect was quickly observed entering and exiting a yard in the 100 block of Avenue J Â鶹´«Ã½AV. The man wouldn’t comply with police commands to stop and was arrested after a brief struggle with officers.

Police found several rounds of ammunition on him and recovered a sawed-off .22 calibre rifle from the yard on Avenue J Â鶹´«Ã½AV.

The man had outstanding warrants for forcible confinement and assault. He was additionally charged with failing to comply with court-imposed conditions.
