SASKATOON – A man accused of attacking a senior citizen with a bat made his second appearance in Saskatoon Provincial Court Thursday and was remanded in custody.

Ward Tanner Olochowski, 30, is back in court May 27 for a bail hearing. He is charged with aggravated assault, carrying a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence, assaulting a police officer, and resisting arrest.

He was arrested on May 20 after Saskatoon police were called to the 100 block of Idylwyld Drive North for reports of a fight involving a weapon. While police were driving to the scene, they got an updated call that one of the individuals had a bat and the other was bleeding.

When police arrived, they saw a man matching the suspect’s description, carrying a bat. He fled on foot but officers arrested him a few blocks away.
