DESCHAMBAULT LAKE – A woman was taken to a clinic with serious injuries following an assault.
Deschambault Lake RCMP say they got a report at about 2 p.m. on June 17 that an injured person was receiving medical care at the local clinic. She was brought by private citizens to the clinic.
The police investigation determined that 33-year-old Jonah Ballantyne from Deschambault Lake assaulted the woman. Ballantyne, from Deschambault Lake, is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and failing to comply with a court ordered undertaking.
He appeared by phone in La Ronge Provincial Court Monday.
