REGINA —  Two males – a 24 year old and a 17 year old — have been charged in Regina’s first murder of 2024.

At about 1:50 p.m. Sunday, police were dispatched to a residence on the 4800 block of Sherwood Drive for a report of a firearms offence. A male in the driveway had reportedly been shot.

The victim, 22-year-old Everett Wolfe Roberts-Orr was taken to hospital but succumbed to his injury.

Investigation led to the arrest of Isaiah James Dustyhorn, 24, and a 17-year-old youth who can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Both have been charged with second-degree murder and are making their first court appearances on the charge.

From our previous report: At 2:30 p.m. a substantial police presence was in the area. Police tape cordoned off a yard where a car sat in a driveway, its tire removed, with it being alleged the victim may have been changing a tire when they were approached. Social media accounts reported a loud “bang” being heard in the area just prior to 2 p.m. Another social media post reportedly from a witness to the crime read, “Three guys walked by a guy changing his tire, and one of them shot him.”

At 3 p.m. the Shell Station across the street from the scene also held a substantial police presence. As of 3 a.m. Monday morning, the police tape remained and two RPS vehicles remained outside of the home.

Anyone who has information that could assist police in this investigation is asked to contact the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500 or Regina Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477)
