Cow moose unlawfully hunted near occupied residences

Officers believe the moose was killed sometime between Thursday, Feb. 22, and Friday, Feb. 23.

ZEHNER — On Feb. 23, Regina conservation officers received information regarding a cow moose that had been unlawfully shot and killed on private land approximately six km north of Zehner.

Officers believe the moose was killed sometime between Thursday, Feb. 22, and Friday, Feb. 23.

There was no moose season open during this time. The moose was “barrel” dressed (four quarters removed). The moose was killed within 500 meters of occupied residences. Officers also noted that the cow moose was pregnant when she was killed.
