Charges dropped against one of nine charged in Megan Gallagher's murder

Three people charged in Megan Gallagher’s death have been sentenced.

SASKATOON – Charges against one of the nine charged in Megan Gallagher’s murder have been dropped in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Sept. 26.

The Saskatoon prosecutions office confirmed with SASKTODAY.ca on Friday that the Crown Prosecutor entered a stay of proceedings on charges of unlawful confinement and aggravated assault against Robin Tyler John.

John had been arrested at a correctional centre on Beardys/Okemasis Cree Nation last year.

Earlier this month 28-year-old Robert “Bobby” James Thomas was committed to stand trial on a charge of first-degree murder. Three other people charged in Gallagher’s death have been sentenced.

Gallagher went missing in Saskatoon in September of 2020 and four months later Saskatoon police said they were treating her disappearance as a homicide. On Sept. 29, 2022, police found Gallagher’s remains along the Â鶹´«Ã½AV Saskatchewan River near St. Louis.
