BALGONIE – A man involved in a fatal two-vehicle collision north of Balgonie back on June 15 has made a first court appearance.
The collision happened around 11:30 p.m. on Highway 10, about 10 km north of Balgonie.
"A car with one driver/occupant collided with a car with four occupants," said RCMP in a media release.
A 25-year-old Fort Qu'Appelle woman died at the scene, despite best efforts by EMS to provide aid.
White Butte RCMP say a second woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries, while the driver and third passenger of the vehicle were treated for undetermined injuries.
The man in the other vehicle did not report injuries to police.
"After continued investigation with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist, and in consultation with Crown Prosecution, the adult male driver was arrested in Wolseley on Aug. 9," RCMP said.
Brayden Veilleuax, 22, of Balgonie was charged with operation of a vehicle causing death and operation of a vehicle causing bodily harm.
He made an initial court appearance in Regina Provincial Court on Aug. 10.
