Keewaytinook Okimakanak Board of Education (KOBE) is looking to hire a full-time Speech Language Pathologist to support students requiring speech and language assessments and intervention in the
remote First Nations of Deer Lake First Nation, Keewaywin First Nation, Poplar Hill First Nation, Fort Severn First Nation, and North Spirit Lake First Nation.
Reporting to the Vice Principal, the successful candidate will be required to complete assessments,
develop intervention plans and complete reporting for students with communication disorders. The Speech Language Pathologist will provide direction and guidance to the Communication Disorders
Assistant(s). The Speech Language Pathologist will participate as a member of the Speech Language Team in cooperation with KOBE staff, KO First Nation school principals and teachers, students’ families in addressing students’ speech and language needs.
The Speech and Language Pathologist will visit community schools and provide 1:1 intervention to students and through virtual learning sessions.
Qualifications:
 Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology
ï‚· Registered and a member in good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech
Language Pathologists of Ontario
ï‚· Experience in working with school age children
ï‚· Experience with providing group and individual interventions to children and youth
ï‚· Experience working in a school setting
ï‚· Possess excellent communication/interpersonal skills
ï‚· Possess ability to function successfully as part of a team
ï‚· Able to travel to remote First Nations in small planes
ï‚· Current valid Criminal Record Check

Salary range: $82,115 - $99,812 based on education and experience.
