Candidate says health, safety and infrastructure are most pressing issues for city.

The Yorkton Exhibition Association and the Yorkton Chamber of Commerce are two of the oldest organizations in Yorkton.

Provincially the Saskatchewan Party secured a majority with 35 seats, with the NDP at 26.

On the first preliminary count of votes, Chan received 3361 votes compared to the NDP's 2128, the Sask United Party's 803, the Green Party's 131 and the Buffalo Party's 40. 

All 11 schools in Yorkton are participating in the annual food drive.

Jennifer Lindgren, said every year she is surprised how many youngsters are unsure of things a farmer takes for granted.

Attending the event were members of the RCMP, Fire Protective Services, Mayor Mitch Hippsley, and Mike Cristo, Principal of St. Alphonsus.

With the game in the books, the two teams turned angry with the teams splitting six fighting major penalties, and assorted 10-minuted and game misconducts involving 11 players and a bench minor and game misconduct to the Terrier coach.
