YORKTON - The City of Yorkton announced the recipients of the 2024 Civic Recognition Awards.
The announcement came at the regular meeting of Yorkton Council Monday, with Dick DeRyk the recipient of the adult award and the SaskAbilities Participants in the group category.
This marks the sixth occurrence of the annual Civic Recognition Awards, explained Jessica Matsalla - City Clerk, with the city at the meeting.
“The awards recognize recipients who have given selfless support, and made contributions for the betterment of the City of Yorkton,” she said.
The Civic Recognition Awards Committee adjudicated submissions for 2024 in November.
The Yorkton Legacy Co-op is again the sponsor of these awards, and has donated $100 gift cards that are given to each recipient at the time of the award.
The Award Recipients for 2024, will be formally celebrated and given their awards at a ceremony prior to the Jan. 27, 2025 Council meeting.
