YORKTON – Update: Roadways are now open after a semi truck and trailer rolled over at the intersection of Highway 10 and Queen Street.Yorkton

Original release: .A semi truck and trailer has rolled over at the intersection of Highway 10 and Queen Street.Yorkton.

RCMP and Yorkton Fire Services are currently on scene of a semi rollover near the intersection of Highway 10 and Queen Street. No injuries have been reported. Highway 10 from the weigh scales to Broadway Street West and Queen Street from Highway 10 to Allanbrooke Drive are blocked to motorists with detours in place. Officials ask drivers to please follow police direction.

Police are asking the public to please stay away from the area and not drive down any nearby alleyways close to the scene.

"It's full of Jet B fuel," said Yorkton Fire Protective Services Chief Trevor Morrissey.  Morrissey said the main tanks that are on the tractor are leaking, but that Fire Protective Services has the entire unit diked off.  "We're retaining all of the fluid coming out of it so that it doesn't end up in the ditches," said Morrissey.

At the time of writing, YFPS were currently waiting for trucks to come and assist with moving the rolled truck to its upright position."We've got airbags ready to go to upright this thing," said Morrissey, adding "but we're probably going to have to wait for someone to offload it first, because if we try to tip it up and it buckled – we could have a whole bigger mess on our hands," said Morrissey.

"There's a lot of weight there, I think it's about 30,000 litres, if I'm not mistaken."
