Reuben Winfred Ziolkowski, January 29, 1926 to September 12, 2014. On September 12, Reuben was called to his heavenly home. Reuben was born at the Family Farm near Lemberg, SK. He accepted the Lord as his Saviour at age 9 and was later baptized. The Family moved from Lemberg to settle on a farm yard, by Orcadia, SK. This was in 1944, the same year he joined West Ebenezer Church and later, Springside Baptist Church. Reuben attended C.T.I. (Christian Training Institute) in Edmonton and then U of S School of Agriculture. He married Phyllis Horn on June 8, 1951. Rueben retired from farming in 1981 and moved to Springside. He & Phyllis spent many winters in Sun City, AZ, where he enjoyed his hobbies of lapidary, music and tennis. They traveled to Hawaii, Switzerland, Niagara Falls and Banff, as well as numerous places in the US. He served his community by being a Director of SK Co-op Creameries, served on the Board of Federation of Agriculture and on the SK Dairy Producers. He served his Lord through the local church as Sunday School teacher, Youth Director, Deacon and Moderator. As well as being very active in the local Gideons. He served his family by being a wonderful Christ-like example in all he did, as well as being a great provider and compassionate Dad. He showed us how to live, love and laugh. He is missed, but is fully at peace with his Saviour and Lord, along side the family and friends that have gone before. He is loved and remembered by his three children Clair (Verle) Ziolkowski, Warren (Margo) Ziolkowski and Maureen (Garnet) Johnson; his grandchildren Chelaine (Dave) Moore and son Jonathon; Matthew (Jenine) Ziolkowski and daughters Mya and Marcy; Diane (David) Jones and children Cassie and Bryant; Kathy (Brian) Lane and sons Marshall, Wyatt and Jack; Alan Ziolkowski; Naomi Ziolkowski; Kaebri Ziolkowski; Karl Ziolkowski; Amber (Ben) Nasmith and children Miles and Lucy; and Keagan (Lana) Johnson and son Zachary. He is also remembered by his brother Erwin (Margaret) Ziolkowski and his sisters Ardice Powell, Verna Peter, Artrude Doell, Lillian Grabke and Geraldine (Don) Smailes. Reuben was predeceased by his wife, Phyllis (Horn), his parents, Frank and Martha (Hoffmann) and his sister Viola Breitkreuz. A celebration of Reuben's life will be held at Springside Baptist Church in Springside, SK on Saturday, September 20, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. and visitation at Christie Hill Funeral Home in Yorkton, SK on Friday, September 19, 2014.
