Mrs. Angella Zayshley of Yorkton, beloved wife of the Late Michael Zayshley, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2012 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre following a brief illness. She was 96 years of age. Angella was born on February 17, 1916 in the Good Spirit District of SK. She was the daughter of Michael and Francis Babchishin and was raised on the family farm. On November 17, 1934 she was united in Holy Matrimony to Michael Zayshley at the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Canora. The Lord blessed their marriage with seven children and they resided on the family farm. Michael & Angella moved to Ebenezer in 1961 and settled their family there. Angella had a zest for life that was felt by everyone who knew her. She took great pride in her personal appearance and her home, and loved spending time with her family and friends. After moving to Ebenezer, she became involved in a range of endeavours, including volunteer work for Elections Canada and working as a representative for Avon. Angella was a legendary cook who loved to feed traditional Ukrainian dishes, preserved fruit and baking to her loved ones, and always had a special treat on hand for visitors. In 1987, Angella moved to Yorkton where she continued to keep active by taking care of her home and garden, reading, listening to music, watching her favourite soap operas and walking to the mall to browse the farmers' market, shop and enjoy coffee with her many friends. She loved to engage in long conversations and to reminisce with her grandchildren about "the olden days." Above all, Angella was a beloved matriarch, who had a deeply rooted Christian Catholic faith. She was a source of comfort, advice, humour and wisdom to her family and she will be missed deeply. Angella is predeceased by her husband, Michael; her parents, Michael and Francis; three children Sylvia, Kenny, and Donny in infancy. A grand-daughter, Charlene Nicole Zayshley; sisters Mary Bodnarchuk and Margaret Kuzyk; brothers Bill Babchishin, Joe Babchishin, and Victor Babchishin. She leaves to mourn her passing and celebrate her life her children; Lawrence (Glenice) Zayshley and their children Darrel (Marilyn) along with their children Brett and Eric; Ward Zayshley and his daughter Alicia; Cindy (Mike Schamber) and their daughter Kyra; Bradley Zayshley and Michelle Zayshley. Norman (Rose) Zayshley; their children Karen Zayshley and her daughter Britney (Derek Sabo) along with their two children Keili and Hailey. Karen (Darcy Nahayowski) their son, Ryan. Deidra Zayshley, and her children; Christopher, Caitlin (boyfriend Chance), and Taylor. Jennifer and Kurtis Rogne and their children Jaxon and Kashton. Darcy (Samantha) and their son, Parker. Randy and Patty Zayshley; Randy's children Randy Jr. (Erin) along with their children Jacob and Versaille. Ricky Zayshley and Ronnie Zayshley. Beverly Adams and her children Dean (Nadine) along with their son, Joshua; Derek Adams; Tara and Jeff Taylor and their son, Kaleb; and Tamara Adams. Angella also leaves to mourn her passing her sister, Katie Baron; her brothers, Nick Babchishin, Paul Babchishin, Wally Babchishin and Pete (Carol) Babchishin, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Requiem Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Friday, November 30, 2012 from St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church with Reverend Father Raymond Lukie C.Ss.R. serving as the Celebrant. The parish Cantor, Mr. Edward Pindus sang the responses and hymns in the Liturgy with Angella's grand-daughter, Tamara Adams, serving as the Reader of the Epistle Lesson. Mr. Mike Chopty served as the Palamar. Angella's grandson, Dean Adams, served as the Crossbearer with grand-daughter, Jennifer Rogne reading a scripture lesson of John 14:1-3. The interment followed in the Garden of St. Mark at the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Ltd. with Darrell Zayshley, Ron Zayshley, Darcy Zayshley, Derek Adams, Kurtis Rogne and Christopher Zayshley serving as the Pallbearers.
