Robert Samuel Yaremovich

Robert Samuel Yaremovich, husband of Sherrill (nee Herbert), passed suddenly May 13, 2015. He was born to Sam and Anne Yaremovich (nee Sawyshyn) in Yorkton, SK, May 14, 1949. As a boy, he loved fishing, hockey, baseball and collecting sports cards. He also served as an altar boy at St. Mary's Catholic Church. He completed his high school education in Yorkton and went on to attend university in Saskatoon and Calgary, where he majored in bridge and pinball and minored in academics. While attending Mount Royal College, where he served as the External Vice President of the student union, he met Sherrill, his wife of 43 years. After their marriage, Bob and Sherrill returned to Yorkton to raise their family. Bob had many passions. Over the years he made careers out of several of them, most notably landscaping and construction. For the past eight years, he operated a construction company with his son Michael. He was very proud of the latest project they were working on for Yorkton Parkland Housing in conjunction with Dreambuilders. Family was very important to Bob. He was a constant support to his parents until their passing. He was the rock of his family and an infinite source of wisdom. He had a "Bob-ism" for every occasion. He was sometimes quiet and philosophical, full of reflection, holding many interesting views on life. His sometimes gruff exterior masked a sensitive and generous heart. He avoided the spotlight, loved people and enjoyed one on one conversation. His favourite place was the cabin at Good Spirit Lake, where he first made memories with cousins and friends growing up and later with his own family. Every spring Bob headed out to the cabin, eager to clean, chop wood and season steaks -- but mostly to start his fire. In fact, some of his fires have resulted in legendary stories that will be remembered and inspire laughter in the hearts of his family for years to come. Bob leaves to celebrate and cherish his memory his wife Sherrill; his children Elizabeth Yaremovich, Jennifer (Dean) Ronn, Carolyn Yaremovich, Matthew (Karlita) Yaremovich and Michael (Lindee) Yaremovich; his five grandchildren Jayden, Victoria, Maria Paula, Madison and Joshua; his beloved dog Lacy; his sister Lillian (Roy) Leitch, sister-in-law Lee (Keith) Ible, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Sam and Anne Yaremovich, his son Jamie and his grandson Andrew. A Celebration of Life Service was held at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 with Pastor Des Klingspon of Prairie Harvest Christian Life Centre officiating. The soloist, Lisa Pacholko sang "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art". The eulogy and tribute was conveyed by George Cote (long time friend). Serving as the casket bearers were George Cote, Garry Yanke, Wally Straightnose, Rick Sheichuk, Dean Ronn and Mike Yaremovich. The honourary bearers were the rest of his children and grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jennifer, Carolyn, Matthew, Madison, Joshua, Jayden, Victoria and Maria Paula. Cremation with a family interment service will follow. In memory of Bob, memorial donations may be made to the Kinsmen Telemiracle Foundation, to the Dreambuilders program or the charity of one's choice as gifts of remembrance. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.baileysfuneralhome.com.
