Bernard Joseph Wozniak passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at the age of 84 years. Bernard was predeceased by his wife Mary (Saxon) Wozniak, his parents Charles and Lena Wozniak, his three sisters Anne Hanowski, Marie Pengelly, Frances Kmet and one brother Allan Wozniak. Leaving to mourn his passing are his children Debbie (Ron) Young and David (Melony) Wozniak; three grandchildren, Dean (Chantel) Young, Dawn (Drew) Ross and Ryan Young; four great-grandchildren, Austin, Shaylyn and Kaizer Young and Eberle Ross. Bernard and Mary Wozniak were married for 56 years. They met at the Cameo Restaurant in Melville. Bernard was united in marriage to Mary Saxon on October 21, 1958 at St. Henry's Roman Catholic Church, Melville. When Bernard's parents passed away, the newlyweds took over the homestead and started their married lives. They worked hard side by side on the farm while raising their two children, Debbie and David. Life for Bernard wasn't always work. He enjoyed spring and winter fishing, playing cards (such as crib and canasta), gardening, dancing and watching pro wrestling. On October 31, 1997, Bernard and Mary left the farm and moved to Yorkton. Bernard continued farming by harvesting and caring for the animals. They sold the farm in June, 2007. Time then spent with their friends was precious and ongoing. A vigil service for Bernard was held September 22, 2015 at St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church, Yorkton with the Rev. Fr. Francis Hengen presiding and Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated September 23, 2015 at St. Gerard's Church with Fr. Hengen celebrating. Interment took place in St. Henry's Parish Cemetery, Melville. Arrangements were entrusted to Matthews Funeral Home, Melville.
