Henry Howard Weinmaster (Howard) was born in Yorkton, SK. on September 7, 1944. He was the third child and only son of Henry and Helen Weinmaster. After completing high school in Yorkton, Howard graduated with Bachelor's of Science in Pharmacy at the University of Saskatchewan in 1966. Howard met and married Barbara Oleeck on November 9, 1968. They shared many years together and had the blessing of four children Kirk (1969), Charmaine (1971), Michelle (1973), and Clint (1975). Howard's career was spent as a full-time farmer and part-time pharmacist at Fletcher's Drug Store in Yorkton for over 30 years. Howard and Barb built the family farm from the ground up and were so proud of the home and livelihood which they provided for their children. He spent countless hours with his father working the land, producing crops of wheat, barley, and canola. In 1993, Howard & Barb moved to Oregon, US to pursue Howard's dream of becoming a U.S. licensed pharmacist. He worked for Fred Meyer, for his own business Medicap, and for Walgreens during his time there. Upon returning to Canada, Howard moved to Inuvik, NWT and later to Kapuskasing, ON and continued his pharmacy endeavors. Howard moved back to Saskatchewan a few years later where he resided in Canora for the remainder of his life. Howard had a passion for reading medical mysteries and spy thrillers, watching television and Clint Eastwood movies, keeping up with the world's current events with Erin Burnett, and the slightly less educational "Dancing with the Stars", "N.C.I.S", and "Criminal Minds". Howard spent the last few years with his best friend, Katey, his beloved and cherished Pomeranian dog. They spent hours together continuing his life-long passion for agriculture. Together they would go on car rides to check crops, watch the combining (with preference to the big Massey's) and speculate and report on the season's crop yield. He looked forward to his daily phone call from his daughter, Michelle, when they would recount the day's activities and share stories. Although Howard's health had been deteriorating, his passing was unexpected. He will forever be remembered and missed as a Pharmacist, Farmer, Son, Brother, Husband, Dad, and Papa. Howard was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Helen Weinmaster nee Hilderman, his sister Marlene Montford, and Henry's second wife, Molly. He is survived by his sister, Peggy/James Worrell in Swift Current, Barb Oleeck in Yorkton, and their four children Kirk Weinmaster/Sheri in Yorkton, Charmaine/James Tomyn in Yorkton, Michelle/Cameron Birch in Wisconsin and Clint Weinmaster/Beth in Calgary, and his two grandchildren, Payton, 13 and Jaron, 9. He also leaves behind his good girl, Katey. The funeral service was held on Thursday evening, November 21, 2013 at the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Howard's sister Peggy Worrell officiating. Memories of Howard were shared by daughters Michelle & Charmaine as well as a verse was given by Elizabeth Withey. The interment took place on the family plot at the Yorkton City Cemetery on Friday morning, November 22. Over 20 years ago, Henry founded the Weinmaster Park in the northeast part of Yorkton. This fund allows the City of Yorkton to replace the play structure with a much needed, accessible playstructure for children and families in the neighborhood of the original Weinmaster farm. The funeral and cremation care was entrusted to Bailey's Funeral Home.
