Alvin Warcomika

Alvin Warcomika of Yorkton, formerly of the Willowbrook district, passed away on June 29, 2016 at the Regina General Hospital at the age of 63 years. Alvin Frederick Warcomika was born on December 8, 1952 at Yorkton, the son of Fred and Olga (nee Hrabok) Warcomika. Predeceased by his mother Olga (1979), brother Randy (1979), father Fred (2000) and sister Mary-ann (2005); Alvin leaves to cherish his memory his sister Darlene Allore of Calgary, nieces and nephews and numerous other relatives, neighbours and friends. Alvie's passion for farming and hunting followed him throughout his life, even after moving to the city. He was an active member of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation, contributing to the preservation of the wetlands. He will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humour. Alvie always had a piece of candy for his little friends and a drink for his older friends. Prayers were held on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at the Chapel of Bailey's Funeral Home in Yorkton with Very Rev. Fr. Bohdan Lukie, C.Ss.R. of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church officiating. The responses were led by Ron Wizniak. A gathering for family and friends was held on Wednesday, July 6 at the Willowbrook School. Memorials in memory of Alvin may be made to the Willowbrook Wildlife Federation.
