Mrs. Anne Walchuk of Yorkton passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, November 7, 2012 at the Yorkton Nursing Home at the age of 96 years. Predeceased by her parents Jacob and Sophie Butula, brother John Butula and four siblings in Ukraine. Left to honour Anne's memory are her children, Margy (Gordon), Fran (Martin) and Lucy (Les); ten grandchildren Tamara (Scott), Debbie, Shelly, Sheldon, Annette, Amanda, Carla (Scott), Aimee (Stewart), Kevin and Jannah (Gerwyn). Great grandchildren Jered, Faith, Juliana, Tristen, Brooklyn and Mason. Anne enjoyed gardening and sewing. She excelled in preparing delicious meals for family gatherings. She loved being with her family. Mom was always there for her children and grand children, helping each one as much as she could. Mom also enjoyed socializing with her friends and neighbours and always was ready to lend a helping hand to them. She also enjoyed going for coffee with her family and friends and attending Church every Sunday. Requiem Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Yorkton with Very Rev. Father Peter Pidskalny, C.Ss.R. as the Celebrant. The responses were led by Ed Pindus and Parish Choir Members. The cross bearer was Tristan Ungar and the epistle reader was Carla Ungar. "All Those Who Shared in Anne's Life" were considered honourary pallbearers. The interment followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Kevin Uhryn, Stewart Guy, Scott Ungar, Aimee Guy, Gerwyn Thomas and Jannah Uhryn serving as the casket bearers.
