Mrs. Anna Turr of Yorkton went to be with her Lord on September 12, 2014. She was 98 years of age. Anna was born in Rhein, SK, the eldest daughter of Henry and Emelia Holstein. Anna always lived a full and active life. As a young woman she took her first job as a Pastry Chef at the Yorkton Bus Depot. She was later employed as a Dental Receptionist. On June 26, 1948, Anna married Gervas Turr. The couple made their home on the farm in the Bredenbury district. Anna loved to bake, play the piano and grow beautiful flowers. Anna and Gervas were very active in The Church of the Nazarene in Saltcoats and later in the Yorkton church. She taught Sunday School and organized various singing groups within the church 1970, Gervas and Anna sold the farm and purchased a home in Yorkton. They took up camping and many happy times were spent travelling with their camper. Shortly after Gervas's death in 1997, Anna moved to Fairview Arms. She retained her interest in church work, acting as a vital prayer and communication link. She will always be remembered for her love and support of pastors, missionaries and those in need. Due to failing health, Anna went to live at the Yorkton and District Nursing Home in 2012. She always appreciated the excellent care she received there. Anna was predeceased by her husband Gervas, her parents, Henry and Emileia Holstein, her brothers, Edward Holstein, Fred Holstein, sisters, Emma Fenske and Freda Smith. Anna will be sadly missed by her brothers, Albert Holstein (Klara) of Melville, SK, John Holstein of Rosthern, SK as well as her many nieces, nephews and precious friends. The Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Rev. Richard Gibson officiating. The organist, Amanda Buhler led in the singing of the hymns, "In The Sweet By and By" and "When The Roll is Called up Yonder" and also sang the solo, "How Great Thou Art". Memories of Anna were shared by Dagmar Dietz. The interment followed in the Garden of St. Matthew at Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Gerald Fenske, Garry Holstein, Darren Fenske, Ralph Moore, Wayne Fenske and Ken Aichele serving as the casket bearers. Memorials honouring Anna's life may be made to the Yorkton & District Nursing Home, Canadian Cancer Society or the Gideons. Condolences may be sent to the family at .
