Larry Kenneth Topliss of Yorkton, beloved husband of Christine, passed away in the early morning of July 13, 2012 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre. Larry was born on January 16, 1950 to Kenneth and Elizabeth (nee Johnson) Topliss at Esterhazy, SK. He attended Dubuc School, Larson School, and Esterhazy High School and later achieved his Grade 12 GED. On January 17, 1976 Larry was united in marriage to Christine Andersen and they had two children, Jared and Charla. Larry was a loving husband, father and grandad. He grew up on his parents farm near Dubuc, SK. He loved the country and was your stereotypical farm boy at heart. Larry's passion was farming but it was not in the cards for him so he made a career out of construction work, which was the next best thing in his eyes. Larry worked for Farmstead Builders, Logan-Stevens Construction, Alto Construction, All-Wood Construction and Ten-Ten Construction to name a few. Sometimes Larry was lucky enough to work at home in Yorkton, but often his job took him away from family and friends. He worked in Northern BC, AB, NWT, SK and MB. For someone who disliked travelling, he managed to cover a lot of country. Larry was fun loving and care free with a great sense of humour. There was hardly a day gone by that Larry wasn't trying to make someone laugh with a joke that seemed to go on forever or a silly prank just to keep you on your toes. Let's just say you never left your shoes at the doorway more than once when Larry was around. Larry made friends with everyone he met from the youngest child to the oldest man. He had the knack for making people feel at ease. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.Larry was predeceased by his father and mother, Kenneth and Elizabeth Topliss and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clarence and Irene Andersen. He is survived by his wife Christine; his son Jared (Heidi)Topliss and their children Hayden and Nathan Topliss of Yorkton; his daughter Charla Topliss of Red Deer, AB; brothers, Lanny Topliss of Dubuc, Carlyle (Brenda) Topliss of Canora and Ronald (Denise) Topliss of Saskatoon; sisters, Irene (Murray) Bawden of Dubuc, Norma (Gary) Granat of Livelong, SK; sisters-in-law Vivian (James) Talbot of Dubuc, Lucille (Larry) Stradeski of Grenfell, Doreen (Bernard) Kulcsar of Delburne, AB, Elsie (Mal) Zimmer of Regina and Sylvia (Dennis) Chinner of Lethbridge, AB; brother-in-law Mervin (Dawn) Andersen of Regina; Aunt Irene Higton of Ontario; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service was held on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Christie's Funeral Home with Rev. Catherine Pace officiating.
