For all that you are and for all that we have become, we are eternally grateful to you, our dear Wife, Mother, Baba, and Great Baba (Baba II). On September 30 our lives forever changed with the sudden passing of a remarkable woman. Anne (Bobyk) Tkachuk was born on February 7, 1932 on her Mother and Father's farm near Arron, SK. She attended school in the Beaver Plains District. Upon completion of school, Anne remained on the family farm working alongside her Father after her Mother passed away. She especially enjoyed working the land with horses. She attempted to leave the farm for one winter to work at Simpsons Sears in Regina but her heart kept calling her back to the homestead. In 1954, Anne met the love of her life, Alex Tkachuk, at a barn dance in St. Philips. They were married on October 22, 1955 and resided on the Tkachuk family farm near Wroxton, SK. They established their homestead by breaking land and working with horses. Along with grain farming they also raised cattle, pigs, chickens and four children. Her hard work continued in growing a large garden, canning, baking, and sewing. It was not uncommon for Mom to sew all night so that her children would wake up to a new pair of jeans and continue on to the barn to milk cows. Her great hospitality always included coffee and a plate of her famous donuts. She made the best homemade buns and was well known for "Baba's pickles". She made time to play ball with the Wroxton Ladies Ball Club, skate, and was very involved with the Brandon Community Centre. She enjoyed many family gatherings and treasured her Granddaughters and Great Grandson. Mom wore many hats; seamstress, gardener, canner, baker, barber, interior decorator, caregiver, community worker, not to mention, she was the neighborhood cream, egg and cottage cheese lady. But the hat she loved to wear the most was her cowboy hat. Her love for horses, especially Arabian horses, led her to accomplish her lifelong dream of having a house full of trophies and ribbons from the numerous horse shows that she attended with her daughters and granddaughters. Anne was recognized as a 4-H Leader for 20 years, trained more than 60 horses, taught riding lessons, judged trail classes, hosted trail rides and riding clinics. In 1992 she achieved her Level 1 Western Coaching Certificate from the Canadian Equestrian Federation and in 2007 she achieved her Provincial Trail Judge Certificate. Anne received the Saskatchewan Horse Federation Volunteer Recognition Award in 2007. Anne was predeceased by her Father and Mother, John and Jennie (Kushner) Bobyk; Brother, Mike Bobyk; Stepmother, Lena (Sadowski) Bobyk; Stepsister, Anne (Sadowski) Foreman; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Wasyl and Nettie (Pelech) Tkachuk. Our incredible Wife, Mother, Baba, and Great Baba (Baba II) will be deeply missed and always remembered by her loving Husband of 57 years, Alex; four children, Joanne Frederick, Ken (Theresa) Tkachuk, Karen (Dean) Craig, and Cynthia (Dale) Leschyshyn; seven granddaughters, Sabrina Frederick, Laurinda (Chris Jeffery) and Chelsey Tkachuk, Kelsey and Kaitlin Craig, Courtney and Brooklyn Leschyshyn; one Great Grandson, Knox Frederick-Regnier; Brother Eugene (Candice) Bobyk; and many relatives and friends. Mom lived the life she truly loved, on the farm with her family, friends and horses. Her absolute favorite place on earth was their farm and it was there that the Angels came from the heavens to welcome Mom into the arms of the Lord. You will be missed very much and will be carried in our hearts forever.
Life Eternal.
