Ann was born on October 10, 1921 in Wroxton SK. She attended Chaucer School and had dreams to eventually become a nurse, however, this was not to be. Right after she finished Grade 8, her father took her to the Vandermeulen farm and she became a housekeeper for their family. Around that time she met her future husband "Bill" who gave her a ride on his bicycle; something she reminisced about in later years. Ann spent a few winters cooking at the bush camps in Northern Ontario as well as working in the Shell Plant in Thunder Bay during the war. But she was a prairie girl at heart and she wanted to move back home. Upon returning to the Wroxton district, she began seeing her sweetheart Bill and they were married on April 25, 1949. They raised two daughters Mary and Barbara and a son, the late John Tatham. Ann was a great cook and loved to invite people into her home for meals. It was not unusual for her to have 35 people or more for Christmas Dinner. Ann was also a great gardener and spent hours in her vegetable garden and planting and looking after her flower gardens, and was always happy to share her bounty with friends and family members. A great bird lover, she fed hummingbirds all summer long and was an active member of the Yellowhead Flyway Birding Trail Association for a number of years. Ann was very gifted at crocheting afghans and nearly every family member and acquaintance were proud owners of same. Ann was always ready to donate one of her afghans to raise money for various causes throughout the community. In the late 1980's Bill and Ann, with their daughter Mary, began taking trips to the United States. Ann always talked about going back to Montana as she found the sweeping landscapes so beautiful. The waterfalls of Glacier National Park were a thrill for her. Ann insisted that they stop at nearly every waterfall so she could get out of the car and walk closer to them. Ann and Bill quit farming in 1992 and then sold the family farm in September 2007. They moved to the Manor in Churchbridge and then Ann moved to Eaglestone Lodge in Kamsack in October of 2011. She leaves to mourn daughters, Mary and Barb (Merv), grand children, Tanya (Alan) and Tyler, and great great grandchildren, Chayce and Brin. Her only surviving sibling is Kay Komfolio of Thunder Bay, ON. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. from Saltcoats United Church in Saltcoats, SK. The interment will follow in the Saltcoats Town Cemetery, Saltcoats, SK. Friends so wishing may make donations in Ann's memory to the Kinsmen Telemiracle (www.telemiracle.com) as tokens of remembrance. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Christie's Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yorkton, Saskatchewan.
