Leslie Solomon was born on June 18, 1938 in a small farmhouse in the Fenwood District of Saskatchewan. He was the youngest son of Joseph and Julia Solomon. Les spent his childhood learning the ways of farm life and attending the Perliy School. Les left home at the age of 17 by hitchhiking to Regina where he was employed at a lumber yard for the next year. He then returned to Yorkton where he gained employment with SaskPower as a Lineman and eventually he became a Journeyman Electrician. In 1957 while working with SaskPower he met his lifelong friend, John Hutchinson. The two best friends worked together near Saskatoon at the Queen Elizabeth Power Plant. In 1957 at age 19 Les purchased his first new car, 1957 Ford Fairlane and the two friends went cruising. The next year, Les bought a Studebaker which he was very proud to own. In 1966 Les met Anne Ohochinsky, they were united in Holy Matrimony and their marriage was blessed with two sons, Shawn and Darren. He continued to work in the electrical field with SaskPower. Later Les moved in with his mother, Julia. In 2006 Les met and hired his lifetime friend and caregiver, Monique Conrad from Saltcoats. Les and Monique travelled to Alaska and they also travelled to Costa Mesa, California in order for Les to undergo the "Liberation Treatment" for his Multiple Sclerosis. Les and Monique made many trips to Prince Albert to visit his sons and their families. Les also took part in a special camping trip to LaRonge with his grandchildren. Les' last trip was in October of 2014 to his grandson's wedding. Les passed away peacefully with Monique by his side. Les is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Julia and by his brother, Joe.
