Mrs. Noreen Teresa Skibinsky beloved wife of Dale and loving mother of Shane and Kendra passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the age of 49 years. Noreen was born on January 14, 1967. She was the fourth child of Marian and Miles Lozinsky. Her place of birth was Montmarte, SK and she attended school in Assiniboia, Langenburg and Kipling. After high school she attended the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. She married her first husband Allan Varjassy and eventually graduated with a Bachelor of Education. She first taught at schools located in Blue River. BC and Peace River, AB before moving to Yorkton in 1991. She and Allan had two children: Shane, born in 1996 and Kendra, born in 1998. In 2009 she married Dale Skibinsky. Noreen received recognition for 25 years of teaching with Christ the Teacher School Division this year. Her years were divided between St. Mary's and St. Paul's. Noreen's passion and heart was teaching the little people in grade one. She was very involved in the school community, leading the environment club, sharing her faith through religious celebrations and organizing Literacy Nights for her students. Noreen served with the Christ the Teacher Association as treasurer and then as President Elect from 2014-2016. Noreen has earned her black belt in Taekwondo and enjoyed participating in CrossFit to stay in shape. She was always a big supporter of her children's hobbies and took great pride in their accomplishments. She was very strong, loving and caring, always putting others' needs before her own. Her warm and generous personality made her loved by many. Noreen leaves behind her husband Dale Skibinsky and two children, Shane and Kendra Varjassy. She will lovingly be remembered by her parents, Marian and Miles Lozinsky, her mother-in-law Anne Skibinsky and her four siblings, M. Rod (Erika) Vancouver, James (Shar) Black Diamond, Darrell (Kathryn) Regina and Marie of Regina. The Prayer vigil service was held on Monday evening January 2, 2017 from St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church Yorkton. The organist was Diana Hornung leading the Congregation and Choir in the Hymns: "Christ Be Our Light", "Psalm 27" and "Precious Lord, Take My Hand". Father Francis Hengen was presider with Sherri Senchuk as Scripture Reader. Words of Remembrance of Noreen's life were given by Tricia Chisholm and Jenn Stackhouse. The Funeral Mass was Celebrated on Tuesday morning January 3, 2017 with Father Francis Hengen as Celebrant. The Pianist was Allison Kruger leading the Choir and Congregation in the Hymns: "Though The Mountains May Fall", "Psalm 40", "On Eagles Wings", "Be Not Afraid", "Song Of The Angels" and "Praise The Lord With The Sound Of Trumpets". The cross bearer was Quinn Haider with Orest Machushek and Stephanie Flaman as altar servers. The interment followed in the Garden of Memories Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Noreen's husband Dale and her children Shane and Kendra serving as urn bearers.
