Germaine was born on December 9, 1938 at Yorkton, SK; a daughter of Joseph and Pauline (nee LeSann) Simair. She was raised on the farm north of Springside and fondly remembered the animals, grain crops, the garden, and the home made food. She graduated Grade 12 from Sacred Heart Academy in Yorkton in 1958. She furthered her education by entering the medical field, graduating in 1961 from the Regina General Hospital with a Medical Laboratory Technologist certificate. She was employed at the Yorkton Hospital before moving to Calgary to work until 1967. Due to severe allergy problems, Germaine moved to the United States to work. She greatly enjoyed the company and friendships made at the Fair View Arms and had resided there from 2001 until March of this year, when she became hospitalized. On June 22 Germaine became a resident of the Theodore Health Centre. She enjoyed playing cards and watching hockey & baseball. Her favorite singer was Elvis Presley and had the good fortune of seeing him perform one time in Las Vegas. Her love of animals was very special, she had three Chihuahua pets in her life - Coco, Chico, and at last Cheno, who was adopted out to a special family when Germaine became ill.
