Bertha Schneider passed away peacefully on July 29, 2014 at the Yorkton & District Nursing Home. She was predeceased by her loving husband, William and her son, Mervin as well as her brothers, Martin and George Smith. She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memory her daughter, Anita; her grandchildren, Susan, Todd and Brant; her brothers, Art (Mary) Smith of Burnaby, BC, Albert Smith of Dryden, ON and sister, Eva Lowry of Winnipeg, MB. Bertha was born in the R.M. of Springfield, MB in 1922 and moved to Rokeby in 1963 spending 35 years on the farm. She lived out her final years in Yorkton. Bertha was known as an avid gardener and celebrated horticulturist and will be remembered for her love of gardening, cooking and time spent with her many friends in Yorkton. A Visitation for Family and Friends was held on Thursday, July 31, 2014 from the Chapel of Christie's Funeral Home, Yorkton, SK. The Funeral Service was held on Friday, August 1, 2014 from St. Andrew's United Church, Yorkton, SK with Reverend Jen Dresser officiating. The organist, Shani Apland and members of St. Andrew's United Church Choir led the congregation in the singing of the hymns, "In The Garden" and "God Will Take Care of You". The Interment Service followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery, Yorkton, SK with Lloyd Inglis, Harvey Stebner, Mark Patrician, Ryan Patrician, Evan Patrician and Ed Sek serving as the casket bearers.
