Mr. Ernie Sasyniuk of Yorkton, beloved husband of Ivy passed away, after a courageous and inspiring battle against Mesothelioma, at the young age of 74, in the presence of his family, on November 14, 2013. Ernie shone and everyone loved him from the beginning. Ernest Junior Sasyniuk was the only child born to Metro and Tillie Sasyniuk on September 28, 1939 and spent his early years in Kamsack, SK. He met the love of his life, Ivadelle Sharon (Lindgren) and they married on September 27, 1963, on September 28, of this year, they celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary with family and friends. With Ernie working in the plumbing industry, they moved around Saskatchewan and settled in Thompson, MB. in May of 1965, where Ernie worked for Inco. In 1976 they moved back to Yorkton, SK, where he started his own business, Ernie's Roto Rooter Service and finally retired in April of 2013. Ernie leaves to mourn along with his loving and caring wife of fifty years, Ivy and three beautiful children and their families; daughter, Cindy and Kevin Thurston and their son Andrew, daughter Christine and Kevin Best and their son Cullen and his girlfriend Tiana, son, Cordell and Carmen Sasyniuk and their two sons, Brandon and Cameron; sister in law, Carol Hepp and her children, brother & sister in law, Lewellyn and Joanne Lindgren and their children, sister in law, Shirley Lindgren and her family. Ernie was predeceased by his parents Metro and Tille Sasyniuk, his mother and father in law Elis & Dorothy Lindgren, brother in laws, Allan, Edmund and George. He loved his four handsome grandsons and couldn't wait to see them and spend time with them. He loved to fish and did so with his close friends and family. Ernie will be missed but never forgotten. A Prayer Service was held on Monday, November 18, 2013 at St. Andrew's United Church in Yorkton. The Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at St. Andrew's United Church with Rev. Jen Dresser officiating. The music chosen for the service was "It Is Well With My Soul" by Paul Brandt and "Just A Closer Walk With Thee". All of Ernie's fellow business associates were considered Honorary Bearers and named as Special Honorary Bearers were Cullen Best, Andrew Thurston, Brandon Sasyniuk and Cameron Sasyniuk. Serving as the Casket bearers were Kevin Hepp, Kurt Hepp, Darren Lindgren, Tyson Lindgren, Perry Lindgren and Willy Hedley. The interment took place in the Garden of Memories at Yorkton Memorial Gardens. Memorials in memory of Ernie may be made to Yorkton Home Care for Palliative Care.
