Mrs. Katie Sagan of Yorkton passed away on April 20, 2015 at Yorkton Regional Health Centre. She was 94 years of age. Katrina (Katie) Sagan was born January 30, 1921 on the family farm in the Foam Lake district, a daughter of George and Senkera (nee Bazarsky) Zadorozniak. She attended Ashdown School and helped on the farm. She also worked as hired help for local farms. On December 11, 1937 Katie was united in marriage to Carl "Charlie" Sagan. The couple began farming in the McKim district for two years before moving to the Rokeby district where they remained for many years. Katie and Charlie had two daughters, Laura and Florence. In 1971 they retired and moved to Yorkton. Following Carl's death in 1985 Katie maintained their home until 1991 when she took up residence at Clement's court living there until the present time. Katie was confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at Zion Lutheran Church in Yorkton. She enjoyed gardening and caring for her yard. Katie leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Florence Schaffer of Ituna, SK. Her grandsons Cory Schaffer of Battleford, SK. his wife Judy and their son Adam. Grandson Tracey Schaffer of Vibank, SK. his wife Carmen, their son Ryan and daughter Robin. Many nieces, nephews and close friends. Katie was predeceased by her parents; her husband Carl; her daughter Laura LaStrange; son in laws David Schaffer, George LaStrange and her brothers and sisters.
