Mrs. Mary Rubiletz of Yorkton, wife of the Late John Rubiletz passed away peacefully, May 6, 2015 at the Kamsack Hospital. She was 94 years of age. Mary was born August 20, 1920 on a farm in the Calder district, the oldest child of Nettie and Metro Wintonyk. The eldest of 6 children, she attended school in the Calder district as well as helped out on the farm. Mary met her husband John Rubiletz during the war years and married him on November 22, 1942. She lived in Regina and Vernon while John was in the services. After the war they came back to the Calder district and farmed until 1949, when they moved to Yorkton. John and Mary were blessed with 2 children, Iris (1947) and Grace (1952). Mary was active in the UCWL club and was crowned Queen in 1960. She enjoyed company and cooking for family and friends. Her hobbies included gardening, crocheting afghans, baking, playing cards and bingo. She had an amazing talent for cake decorating and making flowers. She did this for thousands of people, making their weddings and other occasions memorable. Mary lived in the house that they built in 1952 until 2014, when circumstances forced her to spend the rest of her days in the Kamsack Nursing Home. She enjoyed living there until her passing. We will miss this special lady, but we know she is at peace now.
