It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a dear, daughter, sister, aunt and God Mother, Cheryl Diane Rothenberger of Edmonton, AB. God freed her from pain and suffering and she passed away Saturday, September 21, 2013. Cheryl was born January 15, 1959 at the Yorkton Union Hospital. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She attended the Rhein School, and the Yorkton Regional high School. After graduation, she began a career with the Yorkton and Regina detachments of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. In July 1985, she moved to Edmonton, AB., where she took an administration position with the R.C.M.P. until her illness forced her to take a leave of absence in May 2013. Cheryl was a very quiet person even as a child. Her beautiful smile will forever be remembered in our hearts. She took great pride in driving and maintaining her shiny red Camaro. In her spare time Cheryl loved painting, gardening, and daily morning runs. She also was a participant in the C.I.B.C. Run for the Cure in Edmonton, AB. Cheryl was predeceased by her father Arnold Rothenberger and leaves to mourn her passing, her mother Clara Rothenberger of Yorkton, brother Derryle Rothenberger of Rhein (Sandy Arnold of Yorkton), sister Brenda (Arlon Wilcocks) of Yorkton, and their children Crystal and (Garth Schultz), and Dustin Wilcocks, sister Arlene Hootz, (the late Dorne Hootz), and their children Christopher, (Terra Quaife) of Saskatoon, Bryce of Edmonton and Jessica of Belleville, ON. God needed an angel in heaven
So he called our dear Cheryl above
But she is only as far away as our dear hearts
And she lives as before in our love.
