Margaret Lee (Peggy) Rodger lived a full and vibrant life before leaving us long before her time in Yorkton, SK. with her husband Bob and son Bobby by her side. Peggy was born on May 15, 1953 to Keith and Eleanor Alexander in Shaunavon, SK. She had three brothers, Graham, Ken and Clay. Peggy pursued a career in nursing where she devoted her life to caring for everyone that crossed her path. Peggy and Bob were meant to be together. They met each other at the young age of 12 and stayed in touch until they started a relationship when they were 20. They married at the age of 23 and started their life together in Willowbrook SK. A family soon followed, first with Heather, then Bobby. Peggy devoted her life to loving and caring for Bob, Heather and Bobby. She demonstrated her love for her family through her actions, from the life lessons she taught, to the battles she fought on their behalf when they were in poor health. Peggy was overjoyed to see Bobby and Heather meet their partners Karen and Johnny and see both get engaged. Words cannot describe the joy she felt to care for her dear grand-daughter Ava in the last year of her life and to shower her with love. In recent years, Bob and Peggy travelled the world and the two of them shared experiences that most people only dream of. Even beyond her passing, Peggy did not stop giving, as she donated her organs and tissues to save and improve the lives of numerous others. Peggy will be forever missed but her spirit and love will live on within all of us she touched in her precious, short lifetime. Celebration of Life service was held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 from Westview United Church in Yorkton with Rev. Molly Kitchen officiating. Organist, Laurene Jemieff led the congregation in the singing of the hymns 'In the Garden' and 'We Shall Go Out'. Special music was provided by Emma Rodger on flute, and 'Amazing Grace' was sung by Jesselyn Skriver and Shayla Alexander. Daughter Heather and son Bobby gave a family tribute to their mom. A memorial luncheon followed the service. Peggy's ashes will be laid to rest at a later date.
