RIDLEY - Laura Lillian

Laura Lillian Ridley quietly passed away at the Regina General Hospital, Regina, SK on September 3, 2014 at the age of 88 years. Laura was born in Yorkton, SK. She grew up and attended school in Willowbrook, SK. Laura united in marriage to Art Ridley on August 28, 1948 in Winnipeg, MB and they were blessed with one son, Gary. The family moved to Thompson, MB. in 1968 where Art was employed in the mining industry. In 1980, Laura and Art returned to Saskatchewan to live in Springside where they resided until the present time. Laura's interests included Drop Inn Centre Activities, such as the monthly pot luck suppers, playing crib and whist tournaments. She enjoyed visiting the Painted Hand Casino in Yorkton. She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, playing cards with friends and relatives and watching game shows on TV. She was a big fan of the Toronto Blue Jays. Some of her remote travels were to Las Vegas and Hawaii. Laura was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Lizzie (nee Geisler) Eckhart and her siblings, Alice, Albert, Lloyd and Norman. She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memory her husband of 66 years, Art Ridley; her son, Gary Ridley and his children, Robyn and Holly, as well as numerous other relatives and good friends. Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 2:00p.m. from the Springside Town Hall in Springside, SK with Funeral Celebrant, Kathy Novak officiating. Words of Tribute were given by Laura's Granddaughters, Robyn Ridley and Holly Ridley. The Cremation Committal took place at Springside Town Cemetery with Laura's son, Gary Ridley serving as the urn bearer.
