Bryson York Rankka, age 18 months, of Yorkton, SK, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home, for reasons unknown, on January 23, 2016. Bryson was born in Yorkton on July 6, 2014. During his short time with us, Bryson touched many lives and was loved deeply by family and friends. His life was a gift to us and the memories he created in all he touched will live on for an eternity. Although we will miss him every day, especially his joyousness and the way he would bring a smile to your face despite your mood, he will be forever remembered in our hearts. As a crawling toddler, daddy quickly nicknamed him "Thunderpaws", from which he graduated to "Moose" as he would crash and stomp around the house like a moose through the woods. He will be eternally remembered by Mom and Dad as their "little helper" due to his youthful willingness to "help" with every task around the house: like climbing into the dishwasher as his way of "helping" unload it. Bryson will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Russ and Lori; sisters Brooklyn (Dylan), Brynlee, Breelyn and brother Mason. Bryson is also survived on his father's side by his Grampa Larry Rankka (Trisha Coady); Uncle Ryan Rankka (Karina) and cousins Carson and Logan Rankka. On his mother's side, Bryson is survived by his Great-Gramma Ida Lachance; his Grampa Ed Lachance and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Bryson was also a special part of the lives of close family friends: Auntie Tammy, Auntie Shyla and Gord. Bryson is predeceased by his Grandma Joy Rankka. Bryson's family would also like to extend a warm thank you to everyone else who shared in his life, including his daycare moms, daycare friends and babysitters. A Celebration of Life Service for Bryson was held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the Royal Canadian Legion General Alexander Ross Branch #77 - Jubilee Hall with Mr. Jason E. Kopan serving as the Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, those so wishing to make a donation in memory of Bryson may do so with a gift to the L'il Angels Fun & Play Daycare, #309 Fourth Avenue North, Yorkton, SK, S3N 1B3, c/o Jodie Upshall or to a children's charity of donor's choice.
