Rita Radchuk was born in Norquay, Sk on April 18, 1953 and passed away March 13, 2013. She grew up on the Key First Nation, started a family at the Cote First Nation, raised her children in Sturgis, SK and then in her final years she lived in Preeceville, Sk. Rita was educated at the Key First Nation Day School and then Norquay, Sk. Rita was an accomplished cook, who spent her time being a homemaker to her family. She loved spending time sharing stories, telling jokes and always laughing. She loved listening to music. Her favorite saying that she would jokingly say was "leave me alone" or "calm down". Rita leaves to mourn her husband Fred Radchuk of Preeceville, Sk., and her children Anthony Brass of Saskatoon, Sk., Barbara & Alvin Fisher of Saskatoon, Sk., and Elvira Brass and Murray Paquachan of Fishing Lake, Loretta Quewezance of Cote First Nation and Lawrence Quewezance of Cote First Nation. Her grandchildren Jaleesa Brass, Ronell Bruno, Lawrence Brass, Dwayne Brass, Tyler Brass and Amy Brass, Kendra Brass, Caroline Papaquash, Morgan Brass and Ethan Cote. Rita was blessed with nine (9) great grandchildren - Adrielle, Lynnaya, Myracle, Kyrah, Ayden, Shenaya, Laura, AJ and Avander. Rita leaves to mourn her brothers and sisters. She leaves to mourn many nieces and nephews. She was especially proud of her two nephews "Chaun" she would say, Shaun Tourangeau and "Petechuks" Peter Shingoose. In her final years she made many special friends that will remember her joyful spirit. Rita was predeceased by her father Gordon Papequash, her mother Mary Brass, her brothers Wilbert Brass, Peter Brass, Vernon Brass, Gordon Papequash Jr., and her sisters Doreen Badger and Josephine Badger. The Wake began on Monday, March 18, 2013 at the Yorkton Friendship Centre in Yorkton, SK. The Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from the Yorkton Friendship Centre with Reverend Floyd Covill officiating. Rita was remembered in tribute and eulogy by George Cote. Rita was laid to rest in the Yorkton City Cemetery with her grandsons, Lawrence Brass, Tyler Brass, Dwayne Brass and her nephews Shaun Tourangeau, Peter Shingoose and Sheldon Brass serving as the casket bearers.
