Joan Pitts was born on November 22, 1946 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan to Alex and Mary Gawdun, Joan grew up on the family "Turkey" farm in Yorkton. They were blessed with four children. Dave, Joan and family lived in Roblin, MB where they had different business ventures, including a grocery store, restaurant, clothing and furniture store, to name a few. When not working, she enjoyed spending time at the cottage at Madge Lake, curling in the winters, and spending time with her friends and family. In 1990, Joan and her family relocated to Kamloops, BC and established the family business, Pitts Enterprises. In Kamloops, she enjoyed gardening and took great pride in her yard. She loved boating on 'the Shuswap', spending time at Nicola Lake with her family, and traveling when time allowed. She thrived in the kitchen, with baking her sweet desserts, her delicious bread and her yummy perogies.
