Stephen Paydli; December 8, 1963 -December 30, 2012 Stephen John Paydli passed away suddenly at home on December 30, 2012 in Calgary, AB. Stephen was born on December 8, 1963 in Weyburn, SK. He attended Sacred Heart High School in Yorkton, SK. At the age of 17, Stephen joined the Canadian Armed Forces. After basic training in Cornwallis, NS, he was stationed at Sarcee Base in Calgary where he took his mechanic's course. Stephen was united in marriage to Cara Whiteside on May 26, 1988. They had two daughters, Terri and Sarah. After leaving the armed forces Stephen worked as a mechanic, and service manager for a number of years. In the last few years he worked as a landscaper in Calgary. Stephen was an avid reader and enjoyed science fiction movies. He leaves to mourn his passing, his daughters, Terri and Sarah; his parents, Joe and Maxine Paydli; his brother, David, and his sisters, Mona Bozsik, and Karen Shortt; his nephew, Christopher and many aunts, uncles, and friends. Stephen was predeceased by his grandparents, Mike and Mary Paydli and Joe and Pearl Cottingham; brother-in-law, Ray Bozsik; uncles, Frank and Allan Paydli, aunt, Gerry Paydli and cousin, Glen Paydli. A Prayer Service was held on Thursday, January 10, 2013 from St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church in Yorkton, SK with Father Francis Hengen officiating. The pianist, Carol Nagy, led the congregation and members of the St. Gerard's Choir in the singing of the hymns, "Prayer of St. Francis", "Psalm 62" and "Hark, the Herald Angels Sing". The Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, January 11, 2013 from St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church with Father Francis Hengen serving as the Celebrant. The pianist, Rita Hilbig, led the congregation in the singing of the hymns, "How Great Thou Art", "Psalm 23", "On Eagle's Wings", "I Am The Bread of Life" and "Peace is Flowing Like a River". The Interment Service followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Wallace Cottingham, Clint Cottingham, Daniel Styles, Gordon Squair, Lionel Paydli and Clint Lawson serving as the casket bearers.
