William Olineck. January 29, 1920 - December 22, 2013. It is with great sadness that the family of William 'Bill' Olineck announce his passing on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at St. Paul's Hospital, Saskatoon, SK. Bill was born on January 29, 1920 in Calder, SK to Katherine (Bobyk) and John Olineck. He farmed at Calder, SK, later relocating to Yorkton, SK and after retirement moved to Saskatoon, SK to be closer to family. On July 12, 1946 he married Anna Husack and together they had three daughters. He is survived by his children: daughter Gloria (Martin) Zip, Victoria, BC and their children: Andrij (Shinobu) Zip, Saskatoon and Matthew (Talia) Zip, Saskatoon, SK; daughter Ila (John) Woroniuk, Saskatoon, SK and their children: Amanda Woroniuk, Saskatoon, SK and Aaron Woroniuk (Kyla MacArthur), Dawson City, Yukon; and daughter Sherry Pister, Saskatoon; SK and her children: Kyle Pister, Ft. McMurray, AB and Tyson Pister, Saskatoon, SK and was known as "Super Gedu" to his great grandchildren: Shawn and Miya Zip; Cahli, Connor and Faryn Zip. As well he leaves to mourn his passing his siblings: Ann Olineck, Mary (Al) Lutzko, Peter (Lydia) Olineck, Nettie (Murray) Ireland, Irene (Paul) Prisciak, Alice Zubrecki, and Arnold (Jeannette) Olineck and his brothers-in-law William Husack and Peter (Marie) Husack and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Jim Olineck, brothers-in-law Steve Olineck and Wally Zubrecki, sister-in-law Gloria Husack, nephew Dale Husack and great niece Andrea Lutzko. Dad was an avid NHL, Blue Jay and Saskatchewan Roughrider fan and was always busy recording stats on the different players and games. From his farming background he loved being outdoors and until recently would spend countless hours doing yardwork at the "girls" homes. The family extends sincere appreciation to his dear sister Ann and his friends and neighbours at Ilarion Seniors Residence for all their kindness and support. As well we would like to thank Dr. Barry Dick, the Saskatoon Pallative Care team and the staff at St. Paul's Hospital for their compassionate and dedicated care. Let's all raise a can of Coke to Bill - You are the Greatest! The funeral was held on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home, (east on 8th St., first right past Briargate Rd.) Saskatoon, SK with Fr. Roman Kocur officiating. Interment followed in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
