Helen Doreen Nagy was welcomed into the world on June 6, 1966 in Yorkton, SK, the daughter of Frank and Doreen (nee Czinkota) Szabolcsik. She attended elementary school at Dunleath and Yorkton Composite for her junior years, finishing off her senior years in the Yorkton Regional High School. Helen further decided to continue her education with an Accounting, Typing and Shorthand course. Helen grew up on the farm near Saltcoats, SK. She loved to be outside, working alongside her father, helping with repairs and working the fields. After graduation, she decided to explore the world by babysitting, working at Houston Pizza and Buns Master Bakery. On occasion, Helen liked to attend the Saltcoats single dances and one evening she met, Ralph Nagy, the man who would be the love of her life. Two years after they met, they were united in marriage on June 4, 1988 at St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church in Yorkton, SK. The young couple made their home on Ralph's family farm near Otthon, SK, where she spent much of her time enjoying her passions which included gardening, raising chickens, cooking, sewing, knitting and spending time with family and friends. Helen enjoyed the farm life and worked with Ralph to care for the livestock and the grain farming operation. She also found time to volunteer for many events at the Otthon Hall, including being an active member and president. Helen and Ralph were blessed with four wonderful children, Stephanie, Raelene, Ryan and Jonathan. She was very proud of the accomplishments her children achieved in their education, sports and careers. Their mother was always in stands cheering, helping at different activities and pushing them to be their best. Helen was a strong and courageous woman, as was evidenced in the heroic battle she fought against cancer. Sadly, she lost that fight on July 3, 2016 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre, Yorkton, SK. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the joy of knowing her. Helen was predeceased by her father, Frank Szabolcsik; Auntie, Elizabeth Szabolcsik; grandparents, Daniel and Jolan Szabolcsik and Joe and Margaret Czinkota; her parents-in-law, Steven and Mary Nagy as well as many other aunts, uncles and cousins. She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memory, her husband of 28 years, Ralph; their children, Stephanie, Raelene, Ryan and Jonathan; her mother, Doreen Szabolcsik; her sister, Margaret (Arnold) Toth and their children, Crystal, Paul, Linda and Francis; her sister, Alice (Steve) Cole and her brother, Daniel (Lisa) Szabolcsik as well as many other relatives and friends.
