Alice Moroz, of Yorkton and Sheho, SK passed away peacefully on March 23, 2013 in Regina Pasqua Hospital. Predeceased by her loving husband of 68 years Peter, her parents Lena and Philip Robertson, her brothers Clarence and Cecil, and sister June. Survived by her sisters Gladys Kelly and Grace Booker, son Don and daughter-in-law Joanne, daughter Marilyn, and grandchildren Jill Ellis, John Moroz, Heather Worts, David Werbowetsky, and Allison Crashley. Also survived by her great grandchildren Mikayla, Tanner and Campbell Ellis, Andrew and Mackenzie Worts, and Lillian Crashley. Alice was born on her grandfather's farm near Owen Sound, ON on April 19, 1915 and moved with her family as a young baby to the new family farm 4 miles west of Liberty, SK. She attended Ridge Hill Public School and after graduating from Normal School in Moose Jaw in 1937, began her teaching career in one-room schools in rural SK. She met Peter, her future husband, when she moved to Sheho to take a teaching position in 1941. They were married on October 11, 1942. Alice was very active in the Sheho United Church and Sunday School. She was a member of the Legion Women's Auxiliary and President of the local I.O.D.E. chapter for many years. She organized an active Junior I.O.D.E. chapter that positively influenced the lives of many young girls in the Sheho area. Alice and Peter loved to travel and after his retirement from mink ranching in 1984 they visited many exotic locales. Alice was a gifted amateur painter and enjoyed quilting and needlepoint. She was an avid softball player and curler, and loved to play cards and games - 3 Spot, Scrabble and Rummoli - with her family. Family and friends are invited to a service to celebrate Alice's life on Saturday, April 20 at 2:00 p.m. at the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre, Hwy 10 East, Yorkton.
