Audrey Lavern Morgan (February 10, 1930 - June 24, 2013) A private family memorial tribute to Audrey was held from the Chapel of Christie's Funeral Home in Yorkton, SK. Cremation committal will follow at a later date. Donations to the Alzheimer's Society in Audrey's honor would be greatly appreciated by the family. Audrey was born in Goodlands, Mb, the daughter of Phillip and Evelyn Pearce. She spent most of her school years in the Yorkton/Saltcoats farming area. Audrey met Lewis (Kayo) Morgan while going to school in Saltcoats. The friendship turned to marriage on July 12, 1948 in Saltcoats. Kayo was always Audrey's true loving companion, especially through the Alzheimer's journey. As a young couple they farmed just outside the town of Saltcoats until retiring to Saltcoats in 1985. Audrey worked many long hard outside hours doing farming chores. During her retirement Audrey worked as a clerk at the Co-op grocery store in Saltcoats. She had many fond memories to share of her days at the store. The importance of family was so evident in Audrey's life. Raising three children increased the family size over the years. Audrey used several talents over the years to nurture her family. Many hours were spent reading, watching travel shows, knitting, sewing, making meals, making birthday cakes, picture taking, camping, fishing, picnics, enjoying bon fires with marshmallows, watching ball games, curling and hockey, driving in the country, taking holidays outside Saskatchewan all this with or for family. Audrey's greatest passion was her love of horses. Western horseback riding won her many ribbons in local fairs. During the last couple years Audrey showed tremendous courage as she faced Alzheimer's. Since October 2012 Audrey has resided in Melville at St Paul's Lutheran Home on Bethany Way. She shared so many hugs with staff and they gave back as many or more. The family is grateful for such a caring staff. Audrey is survived by her loving husband, Lewis; her daughters, Linda (George) Mess and family, Bonnie (Lyle) Evans and family; her son, Larry (Maureen) and family; many grandchildren and many more great grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn her passing, her sisters, Margaret Mody of Calgary, Jean Flewelling of Bellevue, Merla Atkinson of Seattle, Lois (Clare) Fandrey of Langenburg, sisters-in-law, Lorraine Pearce of Toronto, May Herron of Saltcoats.
